Selling Wedding Gold: A Careful, Respectful Guide

Wedding sets are usually the heaviest gold a family owns. Because the amounts involved are large, small differences in rate or testing matter more than usual.
Decide what to keep first
Before any valuation, separate the pieces with genuine sentimental value from those that will never be worn. Selling part of a set is completely normal, and a good buyer will value each piece individually.
Expect a mix of karats
Bridal sets often combine 22K chains with 18K stone-set pieces. Each group is tested and priced separately, so do not be surprised by different per gram rates within the same box.
Stones change the arithmetic
- Stone weight is deducted from the gross weight.
- Diamonds and precious stones can be removed and returned to you.
- Ask for the stone deduction to be shown separately from the gold calculation.
For large parcels, book an appointment. You get a private, unhurried valuation and full attention on the weighing.
